Application Procedure (with regard Holborn College)

Note: Application Procedure for other institutes may be similar, but some have an application handling fee and admin fee.

Step-1 Despite being entirely FREE and though we welcome all new enquiries and applications, YES is a business and as such students should make the necessary verifications and comparisons before committing themselves. The British Council is independent of any institution in the UK and as such can provide students with the necessary information. Similar verifications can be made for institutes in other countries.

We will ofcourse provide as much information as possible so that students will know what they need to compare. Students are ofcourse at no obligation when they visit our offices and can visit as many times as they like.

Step-2 Once students have decided that the Institute offered to them is best suited to their needs, they will need to complete an application form submitting 3 passport size photographs, a copy of their English version education certificates and a copy of the first 5 pages of their passport. Original education certificates must be shown for verification purposes, but will of course be returned to the student. We will send the application form with all necessary documents via courier service at no charge to the student.

Step-3 An acceptance pack is usually sent back to the student via YES within 10 days. Sometimes it can be earlier and sometimes it takes a little longer. YES will provide each student with Confirmation of Eligibility, Estimate of Costs and an Invoice.

Step-4 Students will be required to fulfill the conditions of the invoice. The Institutes Acceptance Documents cannot be allowed to be used as a 'passport for a visa'. Only when students are financially committed to the course will they be provided with all original documents and counseling. Such documents include original Acceptance Letter, Confirmation of Costs, Visa Support Document, Accommodation Confirmation Letter, Receipt from YES and Receipt from the Institute.

The invoice is for a percentage of the advance tuition fee and is payable via bank draft in favour of the Institute. This does not represent fees payable to YES and infact there are no charges

whatsoever. All advance tuition fees are fully refundable or rather 'returnable' in the original form in case of refusal without deductions immediately upon receipt of a visa refusal letter and a copy of the student's passport. The invoice is legally binding. Fees may be payable directly to the college, but in such a case YES cannot provide return it back to student in the original form or instantly. In such a case refunds usually take about 3 months.

Step-5 Students who have submitted the advance tuition fee in favour of the college will be provided advice on which documents are required for a visa interview and these will be duly inspected for inconsistencies and discrepancies. They will also be provided with visa counseling and advised on how to appear for a visa.

Step-6 If a student is successful in obtaining a visa they will be advised of what steps they should take next. If they are refused, we will try to determine exactly why they were refused and will advise about what steps should be taken. Refused students may seek a return of their advance tuition fee, which will be provided without any deductions immediately upon production of a visa refusal letter and copy of passport. In addition YES will suggest students to either review applications, reapply, to improve status, or to appeal. YES will work for the student every step of the way and once again it is FREE of charge.

Note: Application procedures will vary slightly in the case of applications to study for the University of London LL.B.(Hon's) or Diploma in Law. A separate application to the University of London must also be made for which there is a charge of £41 (non refundable) payable directly to the University of London and for which verifications are made via the British Council.
